Tomorrow Is a Dangerous Word

Tomorrow, someday, on Monday this is when we all promise to start living.
Once I complete 75 hard, after I lose 30 lbs, when I’m skinnier.
Skinny has become more important than the experience of living. As if we cannot fully start living until our pants are smaller.
I started this year thinking of all of the blog posts I could write to help you on your fitness journey, but something was blocking me. I didn’t want to spend another year adding to the noise. I don’t want to spend another year telling you how to fix yourself.
I will take this next year and inspire you to love yourself enough to live now!
What makes you feel alive??
It is sitting on the couch and scrolling on your phone?
Numbing out with trash TV and wine?
Eating food that you hate so that you can lose weight?
Spending hours on the treadmill even though you despise it?
Beating yourself up in front of the mirror?
Missing out on memories because you don’t like the way you look?
Living on Instagram or TikTok?
Binge eating ice cream because you feel like a “failure” when you can’t commit to your strict diet?
Most of us are waiting to start living. But I believe if we start embracing what it truly feels like to be alive, we won’t just be happier…we’ll be healthier as well.
So no, I am not going to write a blog that gives you 5 quick lunch ideas to help you lose weight. Instead, I encourage you to make your own list.
What makes you feel truly alive?? And then go do more of that.
Here is my list:
Daily walks
The sound of birds
That first sip of coffee in a quiet house
15 minute BFF workouts
Belly laughing
A meal that fuels my body and my soul
Sex with the love of my life
A good book
The smell of good food or coffee brewing
Sunshine on my skin
Hanging out with my 4 year old niece
My cats
Making memories with my family
Being in community with amazing people
Experiencing life outside of social media
I encourage you to start making a list of your own, and add to it when something else comes to mind.
Stop waiting, start living!
