How to Not Waste Groceries and Finally Eat Healthy at Home

My friend, I say this because I love you. You have to stop shopping for a version of you who does not exist.

That frozen bag of cauliflower rice is freezer burnt. Those almonds that you swore you'd snack on, they're stale. You bought dates and dark chocolate chips to make a healthy dessert, but you ate all the chocolate and the dates are still in the pantry.

Personally, I can't stand cauliflower rice. I don't mind cauliflower, but it's not rice. And I think it's time we stop pretending that it is.

And as someone who has a super sweet tooth, I'm not judging you for eating those dark chocolate chips. If I was in your home, I'd be eating them right alongside you.

My issue, is that you are wasting money on groceries that you are not eating and then spending double the money on take-out and restaurants because you don't eat anything you bought. And that leaves you feeling like dog poop which leads to missed workouts and the "diet starts on Monday" mentality.

So here's what I want you to do. Head to the nearest mirror. Take a look into it and say "hey girl, hey!" That's the person you need to go grocery shopping for. The you who enjoys real rice, chips, and chocolate. But also, the version of you who wants to reach your fitness goals.

Contrary to popular belief...both can exist at the same time!

And it's not just about food preference, it's also about time. The influencer who inspired you to make that 20 step protein filled recipe? Yea, her job is to share content like that. You can't even find time to go to the bathroom alone. It might be the season for convenience over eating super clean.

If you think about it, when you try to eat that way...you end up eating more takeout than usual. So you might as well buy convenience options at the grocery store. You'll save money and calories.

Here's a sample day:

  • In the morning, you're always on the run. What if you grabbed a Greek Yogurt and pop a waffle in the toaster?

  • Forgot to prep lunches? No worries, because you can just grab the single serve chicken salad, a few mini bell peppers, some fruit, and a little bag of potato chips.

  • And when you get home, dinner will be ready in just a few minutes. You make real rice in the rice cooker, open a bagged salad and shake everything up, and you throw pre-marinated chicken in the air fryer.

  • At the end of the night, you enjoy a few Dove dark chocolate squares guilt-free.

If you don't like the food you are planning to eat, you won't eat it.

If the recipe takes more time than you have available to you, you won't eat it.

Make a list of meals that:

  • You enjoy

  • Fit into your realistic schedule

This will allow you to be more consistent with your eating habits and you already know what I always say...

When you're consistent, your results are inevitable.
