The Tiny Habit That Changed My Life

When I set out to create Bloom Flourish Fitness, I didn't know exactly how long I wanted the workouts to be.
I asked myself "what amount of time could most people commit to consistently?"
There are tons of workouts out there that are 30 minutes long, but not everyone can easily find a spare 30 minutes in their day.
But 15 minutes?
That's not only achievable, it's also an adequate amount of time to see results.
15 minutes
Approximately 1.04% of a 24-hour day
Alone, it doesn't look like much. But when you stack up 15 minutes a day for a year?
That's 5,475 minutes or 91.25 hours
The first mission, was getting started. And the way I got started was gathering 10 of my Facebook friends to join me for a month of completing 15 minute workouts 5 days per week.
After the first month, I started noticing a shift in my energy. My face looked brighter and less inflamed. So I set out to do another month with the same group of women and invited more to join us.
Almost 7 years later, we are still going. Some of those women stayed, and quite a few more have joined.
Over the past 7 years I've worked on my craft of developing the most effective 15 minute workouts that I can using very minimal equipment.
From the day I found out I was pregnant until 4 days before giving birth, I stayed consistent with my 15 minute workouts.
Once I was cleared to workout at my 6 week postpartum appointment, I got right back into it.
I'm currently 9 months postpartum and in the best physical shape of my life. Not because of a number on the scale but because:
I was able to casually run 4 miles the other day without dying with zero training other than my BFF workouts
I did 50 burpees inside of one of our workouts the other day, joyfully!
I am able to carry our 23 lb son in one arm and lift the stroller into the bed of our lifted pick up truck with the other
I pushed our son out unmedicated and 9 months later I don't pee when I sneeze
I've been committed to these workouts and this community for almost 7 years now (officially in August) but now my "why" is stronger than ever.
Our son has been by my side for every single workout that I've done since he's been born, and I want him to know that no matter what life is throwing at me, I show up for myself for at least 15 minutes per day.
I also want him to learn that tiny habits still get you to where you want to go.
More is not always better. Bigger is not always better.
Sometimes, less is best and small is powerful.
So before you turn your nose up to 15 minute workouts, I encourage you to try out a week of our workouts absolutely free.
I'll see you there. And as we say in BFF: Don't Stand Yourself Up!
